Up for sale is a Working, in excellent condition Saab 900 turbo distributor Fits 1985-1988 900-Turbo. These also fit 9000 turbos in 1986-1988, Bosch part number 0 237 507 001 (0237507001). A faulty distributor is one of the most common (and more expensive to fix) no start problems with these cars. If the hall sensor inside the distributor fails or the connector is broken off of the distributor housing (common) this will cause no spark at the plugs (but you will have spark at the coil), as well as no ECU/fuel pump function. This unit has been NLA from Saab for several years, and rebuild kits are also unavailable . Re manufactured distributors start at around $250 for one of the cheapest. In addition to hall sensor failures, these also commonly leak oil internally causing a burning smell as the drips burn off on the exhaust manifold which is directly underneath the distributor. This one was removed and runtested with my oscilloscope, functions properly. Though this is probably an original never rebuilt unit, it did not appear to have any oily residue inside the cap which means it should not leak internally. Note that there are 2 types of these distributors for 900-T's. Best bet is to check what connector your car has as it's the only difference, I have both types listed. I recommend replacing the distributor cap, rotor and external O-ring before installing this as these are all easily serviceable and cheap. The ones on the unit are there, but are used and are not guaranteed.Also, I know these cars well, and with this this type of distributor the connector itself can often times cause problems due to deterioration of the harness near the connector boot so be sure to check this as well.
